Thanks to the Grandstream's Betaclub, we got our hands into the new DECT VoIP devices from Grandstream, the DP720 handset and DP750 base.
We had already played with them during the IT EXPO (January 2016) where they were officially announced, and we loved them ever since.
As usual, let's get technical:
- Each DP750 Base can handle up to 5 DP720 Handsets :)
- Range up to 300 meters Outdoors/ 50 Meters Indoors
- 10 Sip Accounts; Up to 10 lines per handset
- 3 Way Audio conferencing
- Built-in PoE (DP750 only)
- HD Audio on both the handset and the Speakerphone
- 1.8 Inch Color LCD Screen (DP720)
- 3.5 mm Headset Jack on DP720
- Supports Call Transfer, Call Forward, DND, Message Waiting Indication and more
The first thing I have to say is that these two devices look way better than the DP715 and DP710 (...just an opinion...). The graphical interface also had a major face-lift.
Another nice addition to these products is the Micro-USB charger for both the DP750/DP720 and the Micro USB port on the handset that even allows non-battery operation. Making the DP750 base PoE compliant is a gift from the VoIP gods (the same ones that are working on eliminating fax from earth).
TLS and SRTP security encryption technology is included just like any other Grandstream device and provisioning using Zero Config from the Grandstream's UCM series makes it easier to get the phone working in just a few steps.
Battery life has doubled. 20 Hours talk time and 250 hours on standby for the DP720 Handset.
This new addition to the Grandstream's portfolio will definitely be a favorite in the VoIP community. Their flexibility, range, features, quality and price are MUY BUENO.
The sad news is that is not available to the general public yet but it is expected for later this month. Feel free to pass by our office if you want to get a closer look to the DP750/DP720, we will let you play with them.
